Supercell’s Clash Royale Generates $1 Billion Revenue In Its First Year
Supercell has recently announced their strong yearly earnings on its real-time strategy game Clash Royale. But, the company decided not to reveal the performance and revenue figures of specific games. But thanks to the mobile intelligence firm Sensor Tower has revealed that Clash Royale has helped them bring in revenues in excess of $1 billion in the first year. A billion dollars is consider a very huge achievement for this kind of strategy based mobile game.
The massive number represents the global dominance of the mobile game. This also shows us that the Clash Royale game accounted for nearly half of the total revenue which is $2.3 billion, for the complete year 2016. But, that’s not all as the said gaming phenomenon also brought in five times the revenue which Supercell had earned in the first year, post the launch of Clash of Clans.
Clash Royale maintained its ranking as a top earner throughout 2016, even in the presence of rival Pokemon Go from Niantic, which also generated more than $1 billion in its first year.
Supercell’s latest took a hit in player spending during the first two months after the unleashed Pokémon Go last July, but since September, it hasn’t left the top 10 grossing iPhone apps on the U.S. App Store.
